What do I need to look for when purchasing a basketball system?
Backboard thickness - make sure the backboard is a least 1/2" thick. Thinner backboards require a steel brace behind the glass- this creates an inconsistent bounce.
Pole thickness - the pole needs to be thick enough (usually at least 5 inches square, 6 for the largest backboards) to support the size of backboard and the amount of overhang you desire.
Appearance - the appearance of the goal system should please your eye, and complement your home.
Safety - get pads for the backboard and pole.
Why Powder-Coat?
Powder coating is used to create a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint. Powder coating provides superior protection against rust and corrosion.
When do I want an Adjustable v. Fixed Height Hoop?
We suggest that if a system is being installed in a park or public area that it is a fixed-height system. This eliminates people hanging on the rim and potentially hurting themselves.
